SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict extremely early preterm birth. After determining the length of the cervix in the period from 11 to 14 weeks of pregnancy in the longitudinal mid-sagittal section, additionally in the anterior-posterior direction, two perpendicular lines are made: the first from the outer surface of the anterior wall of the cervix through the internal pharynx to the outer surface of the posterior wall of the cervix (P1), the second — in the anterior-posterior direction from the outer surface of the anterior wall of the cervix through the external pharynx to the outer surface of the posterior wall of the cervix (P2). Then, the cervical ratio (CR) is calculated as the ratio of the length in mm of P1 to P2, and with a CR equal to or greater than 1.5, a high risk of extremely early preterm birth is predicted.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce perinatal morbidity and mortality by taking timely preventive measures for pregnant women due to the formation of a risk group for extremely premature birth.
