FIELD: rails welding.
SUBSTANCE: method for contact welding of rails used for welding railway, tram and other rails. Carry out contact welding of rails by burning-off from carbon and alloy steels. Preliminarily perform welding of control samples. Then, a three-point bend test and verification of compliance with the standard values are carried out. If the bend deflection does not meet the standard values, sequential operations are performed to correct the modes in the optimal region. As a criterion for optimizing welding modes, the parameter - bend deflection -ƒn (as a complex criterion for the mechanical properties of a welded joint of rails during tests for static three-point bending) is selected. The invention makes it possible, by means of successive approximations, to select the optimal mode of contact welding of rails, which ensures that the mechanical properties comply with the standard values.
EFFECT: optimizing the modes of contact welding of rails in the optimal region while ensuring the quality of the obtained welded joints.
