FIELD: welding processes and equipment, namely flash welding of parts with non-uniform cross section.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of dividing welded cross section by elemental zones; for each zone determining shape coefficient as quotient of dividing its large linear size by small linear size; supplying to elemental zones different welding voltages at least from two welding voltage sources; supplying to elemental zone with least shape coefficient welding voltage of maximum value and supplying to elemental zones with larger shape coefficients voltage of smaller values; determining value of voltage supplied to each elemental zone according to expression U = U0 - C(K - 1) where U - voltage supplied to elemental zone of welded part, V ; U0 - basic welding voltage, V; C -constant value in range 0.05 - 0.1, V; K -shape coefficient of elemental zone profile.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of welding.
