FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of contact butt welding of long rails and welded joints for railway, urban and industrial transport lines. After preliminary machining the welded ends are heated and their settling is performed. After sedimentation, exposure is carried out for 160–260 s and then alternating current is passed through 4–6 pulses with duration of 2–6 s with intervals of 10–30 s at current density of 2–40 A/mm2.
EFFECT: invention provides the required physical and mechanical properties of the welded joint when obtaining the required microstructure; method allows excluding defects in weld seam and welded zone during welding.
