FIELD: nuclear medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for producing radionuclides for nuclear medicine using charged particle accelerators. The method for producing 154Tb and 155Tb radioisotopes includes irradiating a target with gadolinium isotopes at a charged particle accelerator, which is made as a cascade of two modules arranged in series in the direction of the beam of charged particles, while the first module in the direction of the beam contains the isotope 156Gd, the second module contains the isotope 155Gd, and when the target is irradiated with protons in the process of threshold nuclear reactions 156Gd(p,3n) 154Tb and 155Gd(p,2n) 154Tb, as well as 155Gd(p,n) 155Tb and 56Gd(p,2n ) 155Tb, the target radioisotopes 154Tb and 155Tb are simultaneously accumulated in it, which are then extracted from the target by the radiochemical method.
EFFECT: technical result is the possibility of obtaining in a cascade target with a high yield of two target radioisotopes 154Tb and 155Tb at once, each in both target modules with a low proportion of radionuclide impurities, with the possibility of using gadolinium isotopes with a high content in the natural mixture in the target.
