FIELD: amplifier for a control device (tester).

SUBSTANCE: amplifier (8) is configured to issue a test signal at the signal output between the positive output terminal (P) and the negative output terminal (N). The amplifier contains a first half bridge (HB1) and a second half bridge (HB2). A switching unit (7) is provided, which is designed so that the first half-bridge (HB1) and the second half-bridge (HB2) are connected in parallel to the signal output in the first operating mode (Mi), and the first half-bridge (HB1) and the second half-bridge (HB2) are connected in series to the signal output in the second operating mode (Mu).

EFFECT: provision of a light and reliable voltage and current amplifier for the tester (10).
