FIELD: medical diagnostics; hydroacoustics.
SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic non-destructive testing, medical diagnostics, hydroacoustics, pulsed acoustic microscopy, thickness measurement, ultrasound velocity measurement. Radiating transducer is excited by a short electric pulse and an acoustic vibration is emitted into the product. Reflections of acoustic vibrations from defects are received by a receiving transducer with an impulse response identical to the radiating transducer, which converts the reflections of acoustic vibrations into an echo pulse. The resulting echo pulse is converted into a complex echo pulse spectrum, which is divided by the reference complex echo pulse spectrum obtained previously in a product without defects. From the result of the ratio of these complex spectra, the signal from defects is restored and, based on it, the quality of the product is judged.
EFFECT: increased resolution of the acoustic control method while maintaining sensitivity.
