FIELD: electromagnetic testing.

SUBSTANCE: methods of electromagnetic testing of radars and sonar systems for detecting obstacles in vehicles. According to the method, a vehicle equipped with an onboard obstacle detection system is installed on an electromagnetic test chamber simulator. Obstacle simulators are installed in the obstruction sensor view areas and the target function of the obstacle detection system is checked, the value of which should unambiguously indicate the presence of obstacle simulators in the view area of sensors. Then the vehicle is exposed to a high-frequency electromagnetic field (EMF) with specified parameters, created by external field-forming devices, and during the test, the target function of the obstacle detection system is checked under the influence of high-frequency EMF.

EFFECT: possibility of testing advanced systems for detecting vehicle obstacles for resistance to electromagnetic fields in close-to-real laboratory conditions and assessing the noise immunity of these systems is achieved.
