SUBSTANCE: invention relates specifically to devices that convert wind energy into electrical or other forms of energy. Wind power unit containing a rotating base (1), a tower (2), a right frame (8) and a left frame (11) with wind power generators (9) placed on them with wind wheels (10) with vertical hinges (12, 13). Frames (8, 11) are equipped with external stops (7) and cables (6), with one end of the cables (6) attached to frames (8, 11), and the other, through blocks (5), to counterweights (3, 4) in such a way that in the nominal mode of operation, when the wind speed does not exceed the permitted speed, the frames (8, 11) rest on external stops (7), when the wind speed exceeds the allowable value and the wind gust is asymmetrical, the frame (8) or (11) a stop (7) open, frame (8) or (11) rotates in the hinge (13) or (12), respectively, pulling the counterweight (3) or (4) through the cable (6), respectively, while the other counterweight does not work. With a full storm gust, frames (8) and (11) are simultaneously folded.

EFFECT: increase of operational properties of the installation, providing the ability to control power by changing the frontal area.
