FIELD: oil production; oil recovery.
SUBSTANCE: measurement of the contact angle for a drop of fluid on the surface of a material sample surrounded by another fluid. Material sample having a flat surface is placed in an X-ray transparent cell mounted on an adjustable platform and connected to a device for filling the cell with the first fluid and a device for forming a drop of the second fluid. Next, the platform on which the radiolucent cell is installed is adjusted so that the flat surface of the sample becomes horizontal, the radiolucent cell is filled with the first fluid, the cell with the installed sample and filled with the first fluid is X-rayed, and the result of the survey is stored as a background image. Then, at least once, a second fluid is introduced into the first fluid in order to form a lying drop of the second fluid on the flat surface of the sample. During the time sufficient to achieve an equilibrium state on the contact surfaces of both fluids and the sample, X-ray imaging of the cell with the first fluid and a drop of the second fluid on the sample surface is continuously carried out, contrasted images are obtained by joint processing of the background image and images of the cell with the first fluid and a drop of the second fluid on the sample surface, for contrasted images, the contact angle is calculated from the shape of the drop of the second fluid on the sample surface.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of obtaining the time dependence of the contact angle value for a fluid drop lying on the surface of a material sample surrounded by another fluid, regardless of the optical transparency of the fluids under study.
