FIELD: measuring technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and equipment for assessing the moisture content of gas pipelines and can be used for cleaning them after construction or repair. A method for assessing the water content in gas pipes by determining the difference between the counts of the physical parameters of a gas pipeline segment during its drying, in which the attenuation of electromagnetic waves of various structures, frequencies and polarizations in the pipeline segment is selected as a physical parameter, while a source and receiver of electromagnetic waves of adjustable frequency are installed at the ends of the pipeline segment under study, connected to the transmitting and receiving antennas equipped with means of changing the structure and polarization of radiated and received waves, in this case, the source of electromagnetic waves is equipped with a modulator, in which the modulation law reflects information about the frequency, structure and polarization of the radiated wave, and the receiver is equipped with a corresponding demodulator of this information.

EFFECT: increase in the measurement speed and accuracy of the moisture content assessment, mainly with small residual moisture contents.
