FIELD: isotope separation technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for isotope separation of helium and hydrogen in chemical, fuel and energy, pharmaceutical industries. The method for separating isotopes of light gases includes passing a mixture of isotopes through membranes separated by a gap that is a multiple of the de Broglie wavelength for the component being isolated. Layered graphite with up to 100 layers is used as membrane-forming elements.
EFFECT: invention ensures preservation of membrane permeability of the order of 10% with high selectivity of isotope separation.
