FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the synthesis of a modified guanidine-containing copolymer used to create broad-spectrum antibacterial drugs based on it. The method is carried out by the method of polycondensation in the melt of 1,6-diaminohexane (HMDA), 1,8-diaminooctane (OMDA) and guanidine hydrochloride (GHC) at molar ratios of HMDA:OMDA:GHC, selected from 0.9:0.1:1; 0.75:0.25:1; 0.5:0.5:1 with temperature steps up to 165°C within 6 hours.
EFFECT: synthesis of modified water-soluble polyguanidine copolymers with improved antibacterial properties by varying the hydrophobic-hydrophilic balance of the macromolecule while using two different amines.
