SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to experimental medicine, biology, toxicology, and concerns a method for modeling encephalopathy in offspring when exposed to non-toxic doses of manganese in the prenatal period. For that purpose manganese sulphate pentahydrate is added daily to the total ration of female rats at a dose of 1433 mg/kg/day during the pregestational period of 4 weeks and the gestation period of 3 weeks.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to create a model of encephalopathy in offspring, as close as possible to the etiology and clinic in humans.
