FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to anesthesiology and resuscitation, therapy and pulmonology, and can be used to predict the outcome of pneumonia in COVID-19. A CT scan of the lungs is performed, the degree of lung damage is determined, blood oxygen saturation indicators, concomitant pathology are determined, and the level of ferritin in the blood serum is assessed. Additionally the values of variables are evaluated, where CT — 1 degree — 1 point, CT — 2 degree — 2 points, CT — 3 degree — 3 points, CT — 4 degree — 4 points; SpO2 over 97% — 0 points, SpO2 from 95% to 93% — 1 point, SpO2 from 93% to 90% — 2 points, SpO2 less than or equal to 90% — 3 points; no comorbidity in COVID-19 pneumonia — 0 points, presence of comorbidities in COVID-19 pneumonia — 1 point; ferritin level up to 200 ng/ml — 1 point, ferritin level from 201 to 500 ng/ml — 2 points, ferritin level from 501 to 1,000 ng/ml — 3 points, ferritin level above 1,001 ng/ml — 4 points. When receiving a sum of up to 6 points, a favorable outcome is predicted, from 7 or more points — an unfavorable outcome.
EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to improve the accuracy of predicting the outcomes of pneumonia in COVID-19, available for use in practical health care, by performing a CT scan of the lungs, determining the degree of lung damage, indicators of blood oxygen saturation, concomitant pathology, and assessing the level of ferritin in blood serum.
