METHOD FOR PREPARING MICROSTRUCTURE FOR CONTROL OF PARAMETERS OF FIBROUS CELLULOSE-CONTAINING MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01N21/89

Abstract RU 2795190 C1

FIELD: paper industry.

SUBSTANCE: method for preparing a fibrous cellulose-containing material to control its parameters. Method for preparing a microstructure for controlling parameters of a fibrous cellulose-containing material includes preparing the main and surface layers of samples, obtaining their transverse sections by ion cutting, and evaluating surface properties. Samples of cellulose-containing fibrous material with specified properties with a thickness of 50-250 mcm are repeatedly subjected to ion cutting in a pre-fixed position of the sample, images of transverse sections of a sample of fibrous cellulose material are obtained using a scanning electron microscope, followed by repetition of 5 mcm sections at least 200 times. The cross-sectional images are converted into a vector format selecting cut areas of the fibrous material and determining their location relative to each other from the images of the cross-sections of the sample in a previously fixed position. By extrusion on the areas of the cut fibres, 3D models of the fibres are formed, with formation of a 3D microstructure of the fibrous cellulosic material, from which the surface topography of the fibrous material is estimated. The mutual contact surfaces of the fibres are allocated, and the uniformity of distribution is evaluated, which is used to judge the physical and mechanical properties of the fibrous cellulose material. Porosity is determined by the difference between the volume of material and the volume of fibres in cubic micrometres. Uniformity of distribution of fibres in the 3D microstructure is used to assess the uniformity of formation of fibrous cellulosic material.

EFFECT: comprehensive analysis of the physical and mechanical properties of a fibrous cellulose-containing material.
