SUBSTANCE: tool for cutting a workpiece contains a cutting insert with cutting edges, a cutting insert holder containing a socket for the cutting insert, a clamping element with a fastening element. The tool contains a sensor that generates a measuring signal depending on the force acting on the cutting insert. A metal-cutting machine with a tool and a results processing unit is connected to the sensor via a data transmission channel.
EFFECT: cutting tool is equipped with a sensor without adversely affecting the mechanical stability of the tool.
