FIELD: rail vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: current collectors for vehicles. A drive system for raising or lowering a current collector contact pad for rail vehicles includes an air-driven bellows drive, a pneumatic control unit with a control valve, and a lowering unit with a pneumatic detection line and a lowering valve. Moreover, the lowering valve is a 3/2-way valve, which is located on the pneumatic supply line between the control valve and the bellows actuator. At that, the detection line is connected to the second pneumatic supply line of the control unit. And the throttle valve of the lowering unit is located on the second supply line, and the second supply line is connected between the control valve and the source of compressed air. A current collector comprises a pneumatic drive system and a method for raising or lowering the current collector contact pad by means of the drive system.

EFFECT: increasing of the reliability of the drive system.
