SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to supporting medical decision-making based on the analysis of medical images. A device and method for diagnosing hip joints is proposed, comprising a block for obtaining a three-dimensional medical image of the pelvic region; a landmark search unit configured to automatically detect anatomical landmarks in the obtained image for diagnosing the hip joints and obtain their coordinates, wherein the landmark detection includes generating an initial set of candidate landmarks and iteratively refining the position of landmarks in the set based on the analysis of spatial relationships between landmarks in a set of candidate landmarks using reinforcement learning models based on the training set of images; a diagnostic unit configured to calculate clinical indicators describing the health status of the hip joint based on the data obtained by the landmark search unit and generate a report; and a block for transmitting a report to the device requesting the diagnostics.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides an increase in the speed, accuracy and automation of diagnostics.
