NON-IMPACT RAIL JOINT Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC E01B11/24 E01B11/26

Abstract RU 2492285 C1

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: non-impact rail joint comprises rail ends adjacent to each other and connected to each other by means of bolted-type connections. Joined rails are equipped with tips having a neck strengthened to the head width and mutually penetrating slots and ledges. Width of every slot and ledge in both tips makes one third of the head width, and depth - two thirds of rail height. Slots and ledges of both tips are made as capable of creating complementary pairs. And between ends of slots and ledges of both tips there are four thermal compensation gaps that do not match with each other along the vertical line, three of which are arranged on the rail head, and the fourth one - on its foot.

EFFECT: elimination of impact loads at a railway bed and elements of rolling stock, lower subsidence of the bed in the place of the joint as rolling stock wheels move through it, and increased operational reliability of a rail joint and elements of rolling stock.
