SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to immunoglobulin, a method for its production and methods for treating an infection caused by Streptococcus pneumonia. A method of producing an immunoglobulin containing an opsonophagocytic antibody titer of at least 1:256 for 50% or more of Streptococcus pneumonia serotypes selected from serotypes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F and 23F, the said method comprising the following steps: immunizing healthy adult human plasma donors aged 18 to 60 years with a primary immunization with a polyvalent S. pneumoniae conjugate vaccine followed by a booster immunization with a polyvalent polysaccharide S. pneumoniae vaccine; collecting plasma from the said plasma donors after the said booster immunization; pooling of plasma from vaccinated donors to obtain pooled plasma containing an opsonophagocytic antibody titer of at least 1:256 for 50% or more of Streptococcus pneumonia serotypes selected from serotypes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6B, 7F, 9V , 14, 18C, 19A, 19F and 23F; obtaining immunoglobulin from plasma pooled in accordance with the previous stage. Immunoglobulin obtained by the method described above. A method for treating S. pneumonia infection in a subject, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of an immunoglobulin to the said subject. A method of performing immunotherapy for a subject, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of an immunoglobulin to the said subject.

EFFECT: above method allows to create a new composition of immunoglobulin obtained from the plasma of donors vaccinated with one or more pneumococcal vaccines with an increased titer of specific anti-pneumococcal antibodies, and the resulting composition has an increased opsonic activity compared to the control sample.
