FIELD: metalworking.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of surface hardening of tools of agricultural machinery by electromechanical processing. The method includes surfacing of the cutting parts with a wear-resistant alloy and their electromechanical processing by creating a pressing force of the electrode-tool to the surface of the cutting part and a current density of up to 109 A/m2 with the formation of continuous hardening zones up to 3 mm deep and 3.5-7 mm wide parallel to each other. First, a wear-resistant alloy is deposited on the upper or lower surface of the cutting part of the cultivator share, then electromechanical hardening of its other surface is performed by parallel to the cutting edge and to each other zones, in each of which the tool electrode moves along identical sinusoidal trajectories, with the tops and troughs of the sinusoids of each zone located on the same lines perpendicular to the cutting edge of the cultivator share, the distance between adjacent zones is 0 to 2 mm.
EFFECT: invention increases durability of cultivator shares by increasing wear resistance to abrasive wear.
