SUBSTANCE: systems and methods for implementing a phased antenna array with an antenna electrical axis direction. Scan angle within a certain range of scan angles for a phased array antenna is chosen so that the selected scan angle is different from the scan angle associated with the direction of the electrical axis of the antenna. The antenna port impedance for each of the plurality of antenna elements constituting the phased array antenna varies depending on the scanning angle of the phased array antenna. Each of the plurality of amplifiers is connected to an antenna port of one of the pluralities of antenna elements. Each of the plurality of amplifiers is designed such that the maximum performance value of the plurality of amplifiers is achieved when the impedance at the antenna port matches the selected scan angle.
EFFECT: claimed group of solutions reduces the effect of gain losses at large scanning angles by configuring the amplifiers in such a way that the maximum performance of the amplifiers corresponds to the antenna impedance at a scanning angle different from the direction of the electrical axis of the antenna with the maximum antenna gain.
