FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce long-length cast rods from hard-to-form alloys that do not comprise gas defects. First, a rod or segments of a rod made of an 84KXSR alloy are loaded into a container tube inside a vacuumized chamber tube, whereas these tubes are made of transparent quartz glass. Zone melting is carried out by moving the rod or rod segments vertically downwards with a stationary inductor in two passes at a speed of the tube-chamber through the inductor of 10-25 mm/min.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain long-length cast rod precursors of said alloy with high mechanical properties, free of internal and external gas defects, open or closed pores.
