FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, in particular to methods for producing cast billets from anti-friction tin-lead bronzes of the type BrO10C2N3, intended for diffusion welding with steel to create medium-load friction units and sliding speeds. A method for manufacturing cast blanks from antifriction bronze for diffusion welding with steel includes melting charge materials to obtain a bronze melt and continuous casting, while either zirconium is introduced into the prepared melt in an amount of 0.03-0.08 wt.% in the form of a Cu-50 master alloy ±5 wt.% Zr, or boron in the amount of 0.02-0.1 wt.% in the form of Ni-15±5 wt.% B ligature at a temperature of 1100-1150°C and the modified melt is kept until complete dissolution of the ligature and assimilation zirconium or boron, after which the slag is removed from the surface of the melt and the melt is pulled up in the form of a rod through a water-cooled mold.
EFFECT: increase in the chemical homogeneity of the resulting alloy with its optimal equiaxed fine-grained macrostructure and in an increase in the uniformity of the distribution of eutectic precipitates with a small amount of gas defects in the alloy structure, as well as in an increase in the tribological properties of the alloy with a decrease in its porosity.
