FIELD: geophysical research.
SUBSTANCE: gradient multi-frequency component measurements of telluric fields and detection of instantaneous polarization events in them with their subsequent separation into events related to different types of noise based on the use of counting density functions of polarization events in frequency channels and estimates of gradient (difference) and corrected difference densities of these events by applying successive iterative weighted adjustments to the density functions.
EFFECT: increase in the reliability of the results of magnetotelluric sounding (MTS) of the earth's crust.
