FIELD: geophysics. SUBSTANCE: method is used to study the Earth as crust. Region of admissible variations of timely evaluations of horizontal inhomogeneity of field in which relative disturbance of assessment of impedance and/or admittance do not exceed a priori specified level is determined in advance by time variations of spatial structure of field of sources. Horizontal electric and magnetic components of magneto-electric field e=e(,x); e=e(,y); h=h(,x); h=h(,y) and vertical magnetic component h=h(,z) are measured and recorded in step close to surface of the Earth. Complex spectral amplitudes of measured components are formed by these data on frequencies w[x(w); Ey(w); Hx(w); Hy(w); Hz(w). Impedance and/or admittance of underlayer medium are found by them. Timely evaluations of horizontal inhomogeneity of field are found by coefficients of linear coupling of complex amplitudes of horizontal components with complex amplitude of vertical component. Timely evaluations of horizontal inhomogeneity of medium corresponding to region of their admissible variations determined in advance are set. For setting of their ranges of recording impedance and/or admittance of underlayer medium are found. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of method.
