FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the extraction of oil from oil wells by sucker rod pumps. A method for operating a plug-in downhole rod pump is claimed, including the placement of lift pipes in the well with the main sealing and locking elements for tight interaction and fixation in the installation interval, respectively, with the nipple and capture of the plug-in downhole rod pump lowered into these pipes on a string of pump rods connected by means of a suspension assembly with a surface drive that drives the plug-in downhole rod pump. Before run-in, the lift pipes above the main sealing and locking elements are equipped with additional sealing and locking elements of a larger diameter than the main ones. After the failure of the main locking element, before running into the lift pipes, the plug-in downhole rod pump is equipped with a cuff and a hook for proper tight interaction with additional sealing and locking elements.
EFFECT: increased total service life of the sealing and locking elements of lift pipes due to their duplication.
