METHOD AND DEVICE FOR STUDYING FREE HYDRAULIC JETS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01N33/18 G03B41/00 B05B1/02 G06T7/00

Abstract RU 2796762 C1

FIELD: experimental technology.

SUBSTANCE: method for studying a free hydraulic jet flowing from a nozzle at different angles of its installation relative to the horizon plane is disclosed, designed among other things to identify the mechanism of disintegration of a continuous jet into drops, based on photographic recording of a photographic image of individual sections of the jet, for which it is illuminated at its initial section near the jet nozzle cut with a light beam in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the jet trajectory, and at the nozzle inlet, the fluid flow is given a rotational motion, and the contrast photographs obtained in this way are processed using RGB technology software to identify the structure of the jet and the state of its boundary surface, at the same while time, in order to reveal the influence of the physical parameters of the liquid on the jet breakup mechanism, additives can be introduced into the liquid forming the jet, changing the parameters of the liquid and such dynamic characteristics of the liquid as pressure pulsations in the jet, characterized by the amplitude and frequency of pulsations. A device that implements said method is also disclosed.

EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to identify the mechanism of destruction of a free hydraulic jet and experimentally determine the parameters and factors affecting the stability of the hydraulic jet.
