FIELD: electroplating.
SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for applying composite electrochemical Co-WC coatings, including the preparation of an electrolyte and the deposition of a Co-WC coating using soluble or insoluble anodes from an electrolyte comprising a cobalt (II) salt and WC powder at the cathode. Cobalt-tungsten carbide coatings are used to impart high hardness and wear resistance to the surface of parts and tooling. The method includes the preparation of an electrolyte and the deposition of a Co-WC coating using soluble or insoluble anodes from an electrolyte comprising a cobalt (II) salt and WC powder at a cathode current density of 3.5-4.5 A/dm2 and stirring the solution with a magnetic stirrer when applying a coating, according to the invention, the concentration of WC powder in the electrolyte is 5-20 g/l, the pH of the solution is 6.5-6.8, cobalt (II) chloride hexahydrate 35-40 g/l is used as the cobalt salt, ammonium chloride is additionally added at 100-150 g/l, urotropin at 45-55 g/l, the process is carried out at a solution temperature of 18-25°C.
EFFECT: making hard, wear-resistant composite electrochemical coatings Co-WC at a temperature of 18-25°C having high adhesive strength.
