FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing a combined maxillofacial epithesis. The basis of the obturator is made of acrylic plastic according to individual casts of the oral cavity and the patient's defect. On the plaster model of the upper jaw, the basis of the obturator is modeled with the setting of the dentition. An obturator is made of acrylic plastic and neodymium magnets are installed in its upper part, which enters the region of the upper palate defect. The obturator is installed in the patient's oral cavity and a cast of the facial defect is taken with the obturator part protruding into the defect area with neodymium magnets installed in it. The resulting cast is filled with gypsum and a wax model of the facial epithesis is created on the resulting model. An epithesis of the face is made from medical silicone, and its final processing is carried out. On the inner side of the epithesis, neodymium magnets are installed opposite the magnets installed in the obturator.
EFFECT: ensuring reliable fixation of intra- and extra-oral parts of the combined maxillofacial epithesis along the boundaries of the postoperative defect, restoration of the shape of the face, chewing-swallowing and speech functions and improvement of the patient's psycho-emotional state.
