FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: use for non-destructive testing of articles made from fiberglass materials. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that ultrasonic waves are excited and received by means of two transducers located on opposite sides of the wall of the article, with subsequent determination of presence of defect in product by amplitude of transmitted ultrasonic waves, wherein to create an acoustic contact between the transducer and the article, the inner cavity of the article from the restrained side is filled with a medium with low attenuation of ultrasonic waves, which is a waveguide, wherein ultrasonic waves with frequency of 0.4 MHz to 5 MHz are introduced from the obstructed side of the article through a medium with low attenuation of ultrasonic waves, and control is carried out by moving the transducer with the elastic protector on the opposite surface of the article.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of non-destructive ultrasonic inspection of hindered sections of fiberglass articles for presence of discontinuities.
