METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PHANTOM FOR ULTRASONIC RESEARCH Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2797398 C1

FIELD: biomedical modeling.

SUBSTANCE: according to the method of manufacturing a phantom for ultrasound studies, models of inclusions are prepared from polyvinyl chloride plastisol and impurities for modeling echogenicity. A casting mold for a phantom is taken and inclusion models are placed in it. The shape and models of inclusions are filled with PVC plastisol, preheated to a temperature at which the diffusion of the plasticizer into PVC occurs most rapidly, and imitating the main tissues after solidification that occurs when cooled to room temperature. After solidification, the phantom is removed from the casting mold and used for ultrasound training. The body of the phantom is preliminarily made by the method of three-dimensional modeling and prototyping, for which a material is used that does not chemically interact with the material imitating the main tissues. In the manufacturing of models of inclusions, polyvinyl chloride plastisols are used, which rigidity corresponds to the rigidity of the simulated inclusion. The models of inclusions are given a shape corresponding to the shape of the modeled inclusion; and echogenicity corresponding to the echogenicity of the simulated inclusion. When making a model of the main tissue of an organ, liquid polyvinyl chloride plastisol, heated to a temperature at which the diffusion of the plasticizer into polyvinyl chloride occurs most quickly, is poured into the casting mold in layers, and models of inclusions are placed between the layers.

EFFECT: providing the shape, echogenicity and rigidity of the inclusions, close to the inclusions found in the ultrasound examination of patients.
