SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture of models for ultrasound studies. A method of manufacturing a sponge phantom for ultrasound research consists in preparing a virtual model of the phantom in a 3D modeling program, printing this model on a 3D printer from a photopolymer resin, and performing an ultrasound examination. The virtual model of a sponge phantom consists of many strings. A 3D stereolithographic printer is filled with photopolymer resin and calibrated. An array of images of a virtual phantom model with inclusions is loaded into the memory of a 3D stereolithographic printer and the phantom printing process is started. After the printing process is completed, the phantom with inclusions printed from photopolymer resin is placed in a container filled with isopropyl alcohol until the unpolymerized resin is completely dissolved, then the phantom is placed in an ultraviolet chamber for the final polymerization of the resin. Before performing an ultrasound examination, the processed phantom is filled with sound-conducting degassed water.
EFFECT: ensuring the accuracy of manufacturing a phantom used for the differential diagnosis of pathological formations and the development of needle insertion skills under the control of ultrasound imaging.
