SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a spa system (SPA system), in particular to backup methods and systems for preventing freezing of spa systems. A freeze protection system is proposed that uses a redundant system for temperature control alone or in combination with other redundant systems. The anti-freeze system for a spa system includes a spa tub and a spa tub supporting enclosure, and includes: a mains power interface connected to a controller; a heater connected to the mains power interface and to the controller, configured to heat part of the spa system independently of the main fluid circuit of the spa system; temperature sensor; drain, which is a part of the spa system. Meanwhile, when the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor falls below the first predetermined threshold, the controller turns on the heater regardless of the state of the main spa fluid circuit. When the temperature monitored by the temperature sensor falls below a second predetermined threshold, the controller is able to turn on the drain regardless of the state of the main spa fluid circuit and heater, or when the temperature falls below a second predetermined threshold, the drain opens automatically regardless of the state of the other parts of the system and spa system.

EFFECT: frost protection system provides redundancy in the event of mechanical, electrical, etc. faults by supplying heat to the spa through alternative heat paths and by sending alarms.
