FIELD: fibre optic cables.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for exposing the core of a fibre optic cable and to a fibre optic cable. The claimed method of exposing the core of a fibre optic cable contains: a core containing an optical fibre; a winding tube surrounding the core; a sheath containing the core and the winding tube; and an anti-stretch member made of fibre-reinforced plastic embedded in the shell. The method includes the steps of: making a cut in the sheath in the circumferential direction at a location located in the longitudinal direction closer to the first end section of the fibre optic cable than to the second end section of the fibre optic cable; bending the fibre optic cable at the section having a cut to destroy the element that prevents stretching; and remove the removed section of the shell, located between the cut and the first end section.
EFFECT: improvement in the convenience of exposing the core.
