SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of control and management of the drilling process and can be used in the oil and gas industry in the construction of wells. In particular, a device is claimed for determination of the elemental composition of drill cuttings comprising a sampler including a piston adapted for longitudinal movement and connected to the drive, whereas the piston includes a sampling chamber, a determination unit for elemental composition of drill cuttings , including an X-ray emitter configured for X-ray irradiation of the interior of the sampling chamber, and a receiver configured to receive reflected X-ray radiation from the interior of the sampling chamber, and a control, data collection and processing unit connected to the drive of the sampler adapted for control and connected to the receiver of the unit for determining the elemental composition of drill cuttings and configured to determine the elemental composition of drill cuttings. A method, a system, and a computer-readable medium for determining the elemental composition of drill cuttings are also claimed.
EFFECT: increased speed of determining the elemental composition of drill cuttings while ensuring high accuracy of determination, increasing the representativeness of the samples of drill cuttings, simplifying the design of the device for determining the elemental composition of drill cuttings, ensuring a stable cyclic process for determining the elemental composition of drilling cuttings.
