SUBSTANCE: methods for detecting and recognizing traffic lights by vehicles. When the control device supplies power to the source of the light signal of a traffic light, power is supplied to the appropriate signal and type of traffic light label identifier with a designation applied to its surface, made of a material that exhibits maximum radio-reflective properties for recognition by a radar under the action of an electric current, and minimum radio-reflective properties, not allowing the radar to recognize the mark, in the absence of power supply. Reflect the radio signal with a label identifier. The vehicle radar receives and processes the radio signal reflected from the label identifier. Then, information is transmitted to the driver via the electronic system of the vehicle about the detection of a certain type of traffic light, the presence of the current traffic light signal.

EFFECT: increased reliability and integrity of identification of the type and signals of traffic lights.
