SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a driving assistance device comprising units: automatic braking, brake retention, brake retention cancellation, obtaining information on environment, obtaining information on maneuver, determining maneuver and prohibition. Automatic braking unit serves for automatic stop of vehicle. Brake retention unit serves to hold vehicle in stopped state stopped by automatic braking unit. Brake retention cancellation unit serves to supply brake retention unit with command to stop brake hold control, if preset termination condition is performed during brake hold control performed by brake retention unit. Unit for receiving information on the environment serves to obtain information on the situation around the vehicle. Unit for obtaining information on the maneuver serves to obtain information on the maneuver performed by the vehicle driver. Maneuver determination unit determines the compliance of the maneuver performed during the brake retention control, the situation around the vehicle based on information on the environment and maneuver. Prohibition unit is configured to inhibit brake hold cancellation unit to apply to brake retention unit command to stop control of brake retention until, while the maneuver determination unit regards the maneuver as not corresponding to the situation, even if the specified termination condition is met.
EFFECT: creation of technical solution, in which brake retention control is terminated, if system determines that vehicle is safe even after stop control of brake retention.
