FIELD: optical instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: narrow-band radiation source, which can be used as a source of laser radiation for frequency reflectometry, optical fiber. An extended resonator in an optical fiber, due to its small diameter, is sensitive to various types of influence and external factors, such as the movement of an optical fiber, fiber tension, external temperature, and uneven self-heating. To fix the optical fiber, a capillary with an inner diameter exceeding the diameter of the optical fiber with an extended resonator was used, which makes it possible to place an extended resonator in the capillary, while maintaining its geometry and ensuring heat removal. The use of a capillary with a thermal expansion coefficient equal to the thermal expansion coefficient of the optical fiber makes it possible to seal the extended resonator in the capillary and, if necessary, to use filling the gap in the capillary with a heat-conducting liquid. The capillary with an extended resonator placed in it is fixed on a substrate made of a heat-conducting material with the possibility of sliding the capillary along the substrate.
EFFECT: increased stability over time, reduced fluctuations in radiation intensity.
