SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technical endoscopy and can be used to diagnose the state of the combustion chambers of piston engines of motor vehicles and motorcycles, chainsaws and auxiliary equipment, reciprocating generating plants. The claimed apparatus for diagnosing a combustion chamber comprises a control unit and an endoscopic probe with an image recording device, configured to transfer the image recording to the control unit. The endoscopic probe is made in the form of a hollow stud, the external thread of which corresponds to the standard thread pitch of the threaded hole of the engine head spark plug socket, at the distal end of which the image recording device and the illuminator are fixed, and at the proximal end of which there is a nut, through which the endoscopic probe is lowered and raised along a given trajectory according to the thread pitch of the threaded hole of the engine head spark plug socket, and the control unit.

EFFECT: increased reliability and reproducibility of the results obtained, increased diagnostic accuracy, increased productivity, the possibility of unification, standardization and automation of the process of endoscopy of the combustion chamber of reciprocating engines.
