FIELD: cosmetics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to cosmetic use of patchouli stem extract. The cosmetic composition includes a carrier and at least one active cosmetic ingredient, where the active cosmetic ingredient includes an extract from spent patchouli stems, where the spent patchouli stems were pre-treated by steam distillation. Also a method for producing an active cosmetic ingredient, using an extract from spent patchouli stalks for skin care, scalp care or body care, a method for stimulating sebum production, a method for stimulating antioxidant capacity, and a method for inhibiting wound healing are disclosed.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides an antioxidant effect and prevents the effects of elastase, hyaluronidase and tyrosinase.
