SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to cosmetics and dermatology for hair growth stimulation. Application of Silybum marianum (L.) achenes extract Gaertn. containing less than 0.2 wt.% of silymarin in relation to dry extract weight, for hair growth stimulation, where said extract of hemicarps Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn. is obtained by a method involving the following successive steps: (i) pressing achenes of Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn. with production of oil; (ii) extraction of oil obtained from hemicarps of Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn. at step (i), an extraction solvent selected from subcritical water and C1-C3 alcohol, optionally in a mixture with water, to obtain an extraction phase and a lipid phase; (iii) separating the extraction phase obtained in step (ii); and (iv) partial or complete drying of the extraction phase to obtain a concentrated or dry extract. Use of a dermatological or cosmetic composition containing at least one extract of hemicarps of Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn., containing less than 0.2 wt.% of silymarin in relation to the weight of the dry extract, with at least one dermatologically or cosmetically acceptable excipient, to stimulate hair growth, wherein said extract of hemicarps Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn. is obtained by a method involving the following successive steps: (i) pressing achenes of Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn. with production of oil; (ii) extraction of oil obtained from hemicarps of Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn. at step (i), an extraction solvent selected from subcritical water and C1-C3 alcohol, optionally in a mixture with water, to obtain an extraction phase and a lipid phase; (iii) separating the extraction phase obtained in step (ii); and (iv) partial or complete drying of the extraction phase to obtain a concentrated or dry extract.
EFFECT: above-described extract and composition are effective for hair growth stimulation.
