FIELD: armament.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to obtain a porous spherical powder for 12-caliber shotgun cartridges for smoothbore weapons with a shot mass of 36 g. A mixture of pyroxylin is mixed in an aqueous medium in an amount of 80.0 wt.%. Substandard phlegmatized gunpowder in the amount of 20.0 wt.% is used as return-technological waste. The melt of dinitrotoluene in the amount of 3.0 wt.% above 100% is introduced. Varnish in ethyl acetate is prepared for 45-60 minutes. Next, dispersion is carried out for powder elements using gelatine in an amount of 0.8-1.0 wt.% to water and their dehydration using Na₂SO₄ in an amount of up to 0.3 wt.%. Ethyl acetate is removed at temperatures up to 96-98°C. The resulting powder is washed, sorted into a fraction of 0.2-0.4 mm, graphited and dried.

EFFECT: obtaining a porous spherical powder with the following ballistic characteristics: the mass of the powder charge for a shot cartridge with a shot weight of 36 g is 1.8-2.2 g, the average flight speed of the shot projectile is at least 320 m/s, the average maximum pressure of the powder gases is no more than 61.5 MPa (630 kgf / cm²).
