SUBSTANCE: mobile stations are networked using a repeater, in which a receiver of a satellite positioning system is built in, a unit for calculating the distance to the base station and a unit for determining the location zone of the base station, into which a geographical map of the location zones and information about the geographical coordinates and frequencies of the corresponding base station. In the process of radio communication, the location data of the repeater is determined and, using the information from the base station location area unit in combination with the data of the receiver of the satellite positioning system, the distance from the repeater to the base station is calculated using the distance formula between two points on the sphere, and knowing this distance, the repeater determines the lead time and the signal level, the value of which is transmitted to the base station when requesting a connection or handover.

EFFECT: increasing the range of the cellular network with mobile stations, for example, located on ships.
