FIELD: aircraft.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining the optimal route for bypassing zones of thunderstorm activity and heavy rainfall by aircraft. To determine the optimal route, pre-flight adjustment is performed, in which data are entered for the maximum distance from the estimated flight path to the zone of thunderstorm activity and heavy rainfall, the minimum distance between neighboring zones of thunderstorm activity and heavy rainfall, allowing the aircraft to fly safely between them, the distance from the zone of thunderstorm activity and rainfall at which the zone is bypassed, the value of the angle at which the bypass route is entered and returned to the rated flight trajectory. During the flight, a zone of thunderstorm activity is determined from the onboard radar located at a distance not exceeding a predetermined distance from the estimated flight path of the aircraft, the coordinates of the thunderstorm area are determined, the optimal bypass section and the optimal way to return to the original flight path in a certain way are determined using predetermined data.
EFFECT: increased aircraft safety from hazardous weather events associated with a thunderstorm and an acceptable level of efficiency in terms of fuel consumption.
