FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of a powder mixture of high-speed steel. An initial mixture of elemental powders of tungsten, molybdenum, chromium, iron, ferrovanadium, cobalt and carbon black is prepared in the following ratio of components, wt.%: tungsten 6.0-12.0, carbon black 0.9-1.0, molybdenum 3.0-5.0, ferrovanadium 4.0-4.2, chromium 4.0-4.2, cobalt up to 8.0, the rest is iron. The mixture is loaded into a steel drum of a planetary mill with grinding bodies in the form of steel balls and mixing is carried out. The particle size of iron powder is 120-200 mcm, the particle size of powders of tungsten, soot, molybdenum, ferrovanadium, cobalt and chromium is 1-90 mcm. In this case, steel balls with a diameter of 6, 8 and 10 mm are used in a ratio of 2:3:5, respectively, with a ratio of their mass and mass of the initial mixture of elemental powders of 10:1. Mixing is carried out at a speed of 750-800 rpm for 15-45 minutes.
EFFECT: increasing the productivity of the method while simplifying the technology of its implementation in a planetary mill by reducing the processing time, reducing the ratio of grinding balls and powder mixture and eliminating the use of a protective atmosphere, as well as increasing the uniformity of the composition of the resulting powder.
