SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to inhibit the growth of tumor cells. A method of inhibiting the growth of tumor cells in a second tumor site different from the first tumor site in the individual's bladder, comprises locally delivering an effective amount of gemcitabine to the bladder. Gemcitabine is continuously delivered to the bladder for at least about 24 hours. The specified second site of the tumor is a distant site from the bladder.
EFFECT: inhibition of the growth of tumor cells in a tumor site remote from the bladder.
