SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for differential diagnosis of systemic and non-systemic vertigo. In the blood serum of a patient with dizziness, the quantitative content of serotonin is determined. At its value of 131.8 ng/ml and above, systemic dizziness is diagnosed in the form of a sensation of rotation due to peripheral vestibulopathy. When the serotonin content is below 131.8 ng/ml, non-systemic dizziness is diagnosed as a state of instability due to chronic cerebral ischemia.
EFFECT: method provides the possibility of accessibility, objectification, ease of execution, increasing the accuracy of differential diagnosis of the type of dizziness through the use of reliable laboratory criteria.
