FIELD: rotary engines.

SUBSTANCE: rotary piston internal combustion engine comprises a housing (1) with an elliptical inner chamber and a cylindrical rotor (2) located in it with a shaft (3) mounted in bearing supports. The radial blades are located in the grooves of the rotor (2). The engine contains a rack and pinion mechanism for shifting the bearing supports of the rotor shaft (3) along the minor axis of the elliptical chamber. The displacement mechanism consists of two bearing supports (8) located in the end caps of the housing (1) on opposite sides of the shaft (3), side gear racks and four gear sectors (4). The side gear racks of the bearing supports (8) are engaged with four gear sectors (4). Toothed sectors (4) are installed with the possibility of rotation around their axes (10), fixed on the end caps (9) of the housing (1), and are pivotally connected to two U-shaped levers (5). The rotation of two toothed sectors (4) located on opposite end caps (9) of the housing united by one U-shaped lever (5) is possible simultaneously, by the same amount and in the same direction relative to the bearing support (8). The rotation of the other two toothed sectors (4), united by the second U-shaped lever (5), is possible simultaneously, by the same amount in the opposite direction. U-shaped levers (5) are made with the possibility of changing the angle between them by changing the length of the rod (7) connecting them.

EFFECT: increasing the specific power and fuel-economic indicators of the engine and in preventing the detonation of a fresh charge in the combustion chamber, by controlling the compression ratio depending on the quality of the motor fuel used and the engine operating conditions.
